as usual, i have a lot of extra photos that are very similar to other ones. for the photos here i did what i often do: held the camera at arm's length and just aimed blind. i tend to feel more comfortable taking photos of myself than letting others take them. i'm nervous in front of a camera, i stiffen up, and when i'm on my own i think i'm often at least a little more relaxed.
i like the expression in the photo at the top of the page. i don't like the photo underneath it as much, i find it a less attractive or flattering angle. i've added more contrast to these photos than was originally there. i haven't done anything yet to the new photos on my photo page, except crop them. on the monitor i first saw them on, they looked lighter than they do on my monitor, more overexposed, so it's possible my monitor shows darker than most others.
below is a photo gk took of me. i hate how my arm looks, and i hate the way my posture looks, but i thought i'd include a different angle.
