we actually stayed at the hotel this guy is protesting. we were too shy to talk to him much, way too socially inept. he was protesting that the hotel didn't hire aborigines. the protester was very friendly, and very much wanted to have his photo taken. i doubt my website will be much help, but fwiw, here's some publicity for him. we were here in november 2001. maybe the situation has changed, or maybe i should have researched the facts before putting something on my site. anyway, this was definitely something that made an impression on me during this trip.
